5 Ways You Can Make Eggs

Fried egg with toast

Tired of having your eggs the same way? It's time to try out something else! In this video, learn how to make fried eggs, scrambled eggs, poached eggs, soft-boiled eggs, AND hard-boiled eggs. It's easier than you'd think!



Fried Egg

Yield: 1 serving

Ingredients

1 egg
1 tsp cooking oil
Salt
Black pepper

Method

  1. Place oil on frying pan and heat over medium heat
  2. To test if pan and oil are hot, splat a drop of water on pan, if it sizzles and evaporates quickly the pan is ready
  3. Spread oil evenly in pan 
  4. Crack egg into pan
  5. Season egg with salt and pepper
  6. Wait about 1 - 2 minutes until egg whites are fully opaque (white)
  7. Using a spatula, carefully flip egg  
  8. Allow egg to cook for about 30 seconds more (for a hard yolk, allow egg to cook longer) 
  9. Carefully transfer the egg to a plate
  10. Enjoy!

Scrambled Egg

Yield: 1 serving

Ingredients

1 egg
1 tsp cooking oil
Salt
Black pepper

Method

  1. Place oil on frying pan and heat over medium heat
  2. To test if pan and oil are hot, splat a drop of water on pan, if it sizzles and evaporates quickly the pan is ready
  3. Spread oil evenly in pan
  4. Crack egg into small bowl
  5. Beat egg using a fork, add salt and pepper and continue to beat
  6. Pour egg into frying pan
  7. Break egg apart using a spatula, stirring and flipping pieces until egg no longer appears wet
  8. Transfer the scrambled egg to a plate
  9. Enjoy!

Soft Poached Egg

Yield: 1 serving

Ingredients

1 egg
3 cups water
1 tbsp white vinegar

Method

  1. Place water in a small saucepan and bring to a boil
  2. Once water reaches a boil add vinegar to water
  3. Lower stove to medium heat  and carefully crack egg into water
  4. Allow egg to cook in water for 3 minutes
  5. Using a slotted spoon, carefully remove egg from water and place on a plate
  6. Drain excess water from plate
  7. Enjoy!

Soft Boiled or Hard Boiled Egg

Yield: 1 serving

Ingredients

1 egg
3 cups water

Method

  1. Place water in sauce pan and place egg in water
  2. Bring water with the egg to a boil
  3. Once water is boiling, turn off stove and remove saucepan from stove
  4. Allow egg to sit in hot water for 3 minutes for soft boiled egg or 10 minutes for hard boiled egg
  5. Remove egg from hot water and immediately place into cold water
  6. Allow egg to rest in cold water for 5 minutes
  7. Peel egg
  8. Enjoy!
